28/F here. I was having really sharp pain in my left breast and some nipple itchiness and sensitivity. So I checked them out and my left nipple was also red(just the nipple, not the areola). So it's been about 2 weeks now, and now I've noticed that my left breast feels swollen, dense-like. I'm not really having sharp pains anymore, and not really itchy anymore, but the nipple is still red and I don't exactly know when the swelling started. If I press on the nipple/areola area, there is pain behind it.
Anyways I went to the doctor and she told me not to worry about it. I found a hardish lump and of course I freaked out. So I went back the next day and she ordered an ultrasound. I did the ultrasound and the lump turned out to be fatty tissue or something like that. I told the woman doing my ultrasound about the pain behind my nipple and she did a quick scan over it I think. All together I've gone to my doctor about 5 times in the past 2 weeks saying that something is wrong and she is convinced I'm fine.
What's going on right now is: red and sensitive nipple, pain behind the nipple/areola area when pressed, and this weird swollen/dense feeling.
I am SO scared. My doctor is very, very, nice. But I'm scared she just isn't taking this seriously. She's suggested wearing a padding in my bra to reduce friction and maybe use an ointment but nothing is working. I don't know what to do. I do have cysts that get to hurting but this is scary. I've never experienced this before. I know I'm only 28 and and chances are very slim but just because something is unlikely doesn't mean it isn't impossible...
