why is my tongue never quite clean??

I've been freaking out for months over my tongue. Right in the back, I have a section of white-ish taste buds. I'd say since April I've been convinced I have oral thrush. When I brush my teeth in the morning, it mostly goes away, and then by night I have more and I brush that away, but it's back again by morning. It doesn't hurt or bleed and I don't have a sore throat, but what if its just a mild case of oral thrush?? My friends say their tongues look the same, but what do they know?? I went to my school doctor in May about it and she said it looked fine, but I'm worried that since oral issues are not her speciality, she may have not been able to identify it. What if this is a sign I have HIV? I'm going crazy, please help!!!

How old are you? I assume young as you are at school still.

I don't think it is HIV related but if you are worried about thrush then get a simple swab done at the doctor's and they will send it off for testing.

When you have oral thrush you can feel it - it feels almost powdery on your tongue or roof of your mouth.
You could always check with a pharmacist.

I get that a lot too. If u consume a lot of dairy you can get a buildup back there. My tongue gets like that after coffee because of the creamer... I just get back there and brush it off where i can reach
