    Delayed/Trail Vision

Just lately I have been stressed and depressed. I noticed the other day whenever I moved my hand it seemed to trail more. It's hard to explain its like the vision delays like a sparkler or a strobe light. I can move my head away and the outline of the image will be there for a split second. It feels like my reaction time is slow.

Is this stress or brain tumor?

I very much doubt it's a brain tumour. When we have health anxiety, our minds tend to jump to the worst possible conclusion, I spent months last year convinced I had a brain tumour, I had something like this symptom you describe, I'm thinking it must have been caused by anxiety because it's gone along with the brain tumour worries.

If you're concerned about your vision go and see an optician. They can carry out a much more detailed examination of your eye than a GP can. I went to an optician last year because I'd heard that a lot of brain tumours are first noticed during eye exams. They will also tell you whether or not you need glasses, or different glasses, visual disturbances can be caused by eye strain, and when our eyes are strained or uncomfortable, you will be more aware of disturbances that are actually perfectly normal.

I've definately been stressed and I do have an astigmatism but it does it while i have glasses on too.

I'm just worried that it's serious because Ive been searching and cant find this related to anxiety, it says HPPD which I'm also worried that I have

I went to the optician 3 months ago and they didnt spot anything wrong with my eyes. Is It still possible that it could be a brain tumor?

My pupils are reacting to light fine. It's as if my eyes are reacting quick enough to move objects. Wheneever I move my hand a trail follows, like a sparkler.

No, I doubt it's a brain tumor. I worry about this kind of thing a lot too - any little symptom makes me fear it. I kind of go off and on from worrying about it, but I know when I just let it go, my life is much better!

I don't know much about optometry, but I would say that if a brain tumor were to be affecting your sight, the doctor would be able to tell something. There certainly have been instances where the optometrist was the first to notice those things as he looked back into the eye.

I had eye issues some in the past as well - not what you're describing, but things that would freak me out and made me worry. Stuff like floaters or flashes of light sometimes. But I have other eye problems (nothing serious), and of course circulation can even affect how your eyes work. Even staring at a computer screen a lot can do it! So the likelihood that this symptom is something serious ... well, it's incredibly unlikely. 99.9999% of the time it's going to be something totally benign. Really, I've done the math - there's like a .00001% chance of you having a tumor, and even less really, because the stats include every age group, and even tumors that have spread from other cancers.

So my advice is, if your eye doctor didn't see anything to be concerned about, you shouldn't be concerned either. Try to stop thinking about it, and you might even find it goes away. Often times my "symptoms" are only present when I'm freaking out about them. :-)

Hey, I doubt it is a tumour, could be you're wearing the wrong strengh glasses? If you feel really uncomfortable about it go to the doctor, they can refer you to an eye specialist if they think it's neccessary, but I doubt there's anything seriously wrong.

I have astigmatism too, I initially noticed it because my eyes were so uncomfortable, I was noticing visual disturbances that the optician told me are normal, everyone gets them, but you only notice them when your eyes are uncomfortable.
