    FATTY FOODS

    Ok, does anyone know any foods that will help you put on weight but are not 'bad' for you?? (is that a contradiction!!!)

    Anyho I know about cheese and full fat milk but can't think of anything else!!!

    Not an expert on this, but I'm sure that you need to eat more carbohydrates than fats. Fats as you know just clart up your heart in the long term.

    A dietician I once knew advised a friend to mine to eat lots of carbohydrates instead. This included bread, pasta and potatoes.

    The trick was to eat more than your calorific output, but to continue to exercise (presuming you do do some) to keep heart/lung etc in good order.

    Eating cakes, sweets and biscuits etc, will also increase weight, but the added sugars and fats will not do the heart any good, and too much sugar can lead to problems with diabeties etc.

    Also, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. Get a weight watchers calorie counter and eat all the "healthy" things that are in the limited column. For example - did you know mushrooms were high in calories?

    I didn't know mushrooms were high in calories!!

    So basically I can go home and have baked potatoes with cheese a big salad and loads of crusty bread?

    Yes - it's getting the balance right. And eating a bit more than you need, but sensibly!!!

    Really your spud salad and bread is a good idea - carbohydrate, fibre, protein, and fats.

    You could mix your cheese with some tuna fish too!

    I feel really hungry now!

    its made me ready for my dinner!

    if you have one of those<george foreman>grills..i would suggest steak,potatoes,spinach,grilled mushrooms,and tomatoes...and guess wot this little piggy does?

    i have two slices of bread and butter,and make a side sandwich of- potatoes,spinach,and tomatoes.....i am such a pig..luvly jubbly...bryan.
