How long to get out of your system?

I was on Mirtazapine 15mg for about 3 months, but increasingly got headaches. I decided to come off it, and went cold turkey. Had one bad day but otherwise pretty easy.

However a week later and I'm still getting headaches. How long before this stuff is out of my system? Starting to panic that the headaches are something else.

The half life of mirtazapine is around 20-40 hours depending on the person, meaning that 50% of the drug is gone in this period of time, then 75% after another 20-40 hours and so forth. There is likely to still be some in your system after a week and it depends on many different factors, also i should imagine with abrupt withdrawal it may take a while for brain chemistry to return to normal again. Hopefully it'll settle down soon x
