Hi all,

My name is Alex Jamieson and I am television producer for TV production company called IWC Media. IWC have a strong track record in producing sensitive documentaries about mental health issues including the Emmy award winning Stephen Fry Secret Life Of A Manic Depressive.

I am currently looking into the area of health anxiety, particularly amongst young people in the UK.

Essentially what I am trying to do is speak with as many people as possible to get a picture of what it’s like living with the condition. Thereafter I would ask these people if they would be willing to talk about this on camera to make what we call a ‘taster tape’. This is essentially to show a channel the types of people that we would be showing in our documentary and the experiences they go through. That’s not to say that that person who appears in the taster would necessarily be in the final documentary if they did not want to be. Taster tapes are NEVER broadcast and are only shown to a handful of people.

The purpose of the documentary would be to highlight the condition and raise awareness. We have a professor from Imperial College on board who specialises in this field. What is great is that he is a firm advocate that the NHS does not diagnose and treat this condition properly. Therefore that will be the central proposition and campaign of this documentary and we thus hope that will make people want to be involved with such a worthwhile production.

If anyone is interested in speaking with me then please get in touch:
