So it's gone for now but this appendictis fear is ruining my life

Hey,

So I think this is how all of my ha started I was in year 8 at school and my friend had it and scared the shit out of me with it then it started maybe Ibs not sure but I started getting the stomach cramps and every time I did I was convinced it's appendicitis no matter how small the pain is or where it is for the last few weeks like once a week I'll get like a bad one just every now and then when I move or something never hurts just sitting still last night eve. It hurts in my navel sometimes a bit right of it and it scares me every time.

It may have been wind last night though I can hear my stomach grumbling and wind moving around but took forever to come out or could it be rumbling appendix! And eventually it will be full blown and I'll have to have it out :(

The thing I'm scared off is the being put to sleep had an experience last time I went to sleep was having 2 teeth out and the mask scared the shit out of me hated it it smelled horrible and made me incredibly chaostrophobic so I'm scared of any surgery :(

Sorry to revive an oldish post, but funnily enough when I was 8 we were told a story about a girl being rushed into hospital due to appendicitis in school and it completely sent me off the deep end with health worries. My mum had to keep me off for a few days because she said I looked completely haunted from the worry- I could barely function.

I had my appendix out at aged 6 my mum also has had hers out.

Hi Lockey,
I had the dentist's mask when I was a kid - it was horrible and made a lasting impression on me. More recently I had a general anaesthetic and it was very different being in a proper hospital anaesthetist's room. There is a delay waiting for the operating theatre which turns out to be an advantage as watching the anaesthetists whiled they worked and chatting with them calmed me down a lot.
