    Swallowing difficulties again! Something serious?

Just woke up and cannot swallow properly at all, I have been having this on and off since around August/September time and also recently my throat pain has come back worse than ever.

I was getting throat pain in October/November/December and went to see the ENT who never said anything about my enlarged tonsils and said my throat was inflamed and put me on Lansoprazole.

It sort of helped for a few weeks but now the throat pain has returned worse than before and i am still having swallowing difficulties.

Starting to doubt the ENT Specialist and starting to think it could be one of the following:-

    *Throat Cancer
    *A Neurological Problem
    *Esophagus Cancer
    *Some other serious cause

Eggy, I would go and see another doctor and get a second opinion. If your tonsils are enlarged, then it could just be that causing you pain, but you stressing over it and thinking that it could be something worse is fuelling your anxiety. Don't jump the gun, get a second opinion!
    Good Luck

You can't keep doubting all the specialists you have seen!

The swallowing problem is anxiety - I get it all the time when I am run down.

What about the severe throat pain then? That's not anxiety!

Also when do i doubt all the specialists? I've only seen two but i don't think the ENT one was right with what he said and i do want a second opinion.

It's more than a sore throat it's bad pain, it doesn't' feel sore it just hurts a lot and it hurts nearly all day every day and when i have to take paracetamol for it quite often that tells you how bad it is.

Well all you can do is ask for another referral but you may meet with some opposition seeing as they looked at it before.
