fear of flying?

I am going to see my girlfriend in less than 2 weeks, and I have a terrible fear of flying, I always think something bad is going to happen, I have terrible anxiety which causes me to feel like my heart is weak etc, and I really don't want to have panic attacks on the plane. any tips on how to deal with this whilst flying?

I'm sorry, I can't really help you at all apart from saying you're not alone.

I'm flying for the first time on Wednesday, with my partner and it's also his first time. We're both really scared and don't know what to expect.

I feel for you Lucy. I stupidy signed up to go to Disneyland. At the time it seemed like a good idea. Now 5 weeks to go and am thinking it was a bloody stupid idea. I have flown since the phobia started but getting on the plane and hearing the door shut haunts me.
Without a doubt diazapam helps if you are willing and so is your GP. Best of luck with your flight and try and focus on seeing your girlfriend.
