    Esophageal cancer worries

For about 3 months now I've been having a weird pressure feeling in throat when I swalow saliva also hard to swallow saliva but I can swallow food just fine and I feel it when I take deep breaths to.also throat is feels tight when I look up and move it side to side witch has been freaking me out. The main reason why I think it's cancer is because ive had heart burn since I was 13 I'm now 25 and I read that could cause it does any one have these same symptoms.

You may have reflux which can irritate the delicate throat tissues. What you've got is very common and you could also have globus sensation, which causes tightness and lump in the throat. It is caused by anxiety.

Have you seen a Dr for an acid suppressant med? Don't worry about cancer from heartburn, I had this through my teens and into my early 30's (before acid suppressant meds were around) and now I have low stomach acid and in my early 60's.

It's not under control but it comes and goes, am seeing the ENT specialist next Tues. I think mine is due to some motility issues as I have autoimmune stuff!

I have something similar, it's on one side of my throat and feels like something is stuck there... Like phlegm or something like that. Clearing my throat does feel as though its lifting whatever is on that side of my throat but the issue doesn't go away.

The only times I can't seem to feel the lump feeling is when I've just woken up (takes about half an hour to kick in) or when I've got my head rested on something (back of the sofa etc).

I've no problems swallowing either, no other symptoms and I've had the issue for about 2 months and like you I've had heartburn for a long time and I've been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia which causes the acid reflux.

I've had a Layrngoscope and an ultrasound and they found nothing! But this issue is clearly within my throat and not globus! I know this because sometimes when I eat some bing spicy, I can feel it ever so slightly burning the exact area where the lump feeling is which says to me that there's some source of irritation right there where I can feel the lump
