how to space out dosing of clonazapam

I have been prescribed 2MG a day to take while I wait for my citalopram to kick in. I just raised the dosage to have been walking around an anxious mess. The clonazepam does help take the edge off (but only at 1MG, .5 does nothing for me by itself.) I find that I take 1MG of clonazepam at 7:00 am and it lasts me until about 2:30 or 3pm depending on the day. I usually take another .5 at 3pm and the last one before bed. Does it make sense to take the other 1MG at 3pm so that I am super calm until bedtime?

I just need to constantly feel calm and give my body a break until the citalopram has fully kicked in at the max dose.

Probably. The only way to know is by trying it. Unless there are significant sleep issues other than insomnia, I don't see the point in taking a benzodiazepine (BZD) late at night. They are better used to control anxiety when awake, imho. If insomnia is a problem it should be dealt with as a separate issue as BZDs are not good sleeping pills.
