Re: Any hope of one to one counseling NHS help?
I was referred by my GP to IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) and initially funded for 6 one to one sessions with a brilliant High Intensity Therapist. She increased this to 12 sessions and then 24. I found it really helpful. You are so right, 6 sessions is not enough!
Here is the link http://www.iapt.nhs.uk/iapt/ I would ask your GP if you can be referred to them as soon as possible. You may have to wait, it depends on your area. I waited around 6 weeks which is not bad really. I think it's a bit of a postcode lottery and depends on the funding in your area for MH services.
Good luck and I wish you well. Kitti
