Waking in the middle of the night

I have a problem that I wake everynight between the hours of 2 and 3. Apparantly its very common with depression, I get back to sleep ok but wake every hour there after.

Has anyone got a cure for this or is anyone suffering similar? I am not and will not take any meds.

A happy person is fully caught up in the moment --and is not thinking about the past or the future.

    Hi

I have a lot of sleepless nights and night time anxiety and find that Valerian helps from the health shop (purley herbal) I take 15 drops in water about half an hour before I go to sleep x

Yes, I have been padding round the house trying not to disturb dog or fiancee between those hours exactly!! I usually wait about half an hour and then get up - do an online jigsaw or come onto the forum here and then try to sleep in an hour or so. Not ideal, but I have been signed off work at the moment, so it doens't matter too much if I sleep in.

    Hi

I used to suffer from the same problem (still do occasionaly) and found that if I used relaxation before i went to sleep it helped ward of the night stalks. I think we wake because our minds are to active mulling subconciously over problems that shouldnt or dont exist.

    hi,

I sometimes wake up in the night. My best advice to you would be DONT GET UP! I do and it has become a habit that is difficult to break. I am trying now to make sure that I have a book or relaxation tape handy so that I dont have to get up. My brain tells me I need a cup of tea but am trying hard to resist!
