ecg question

hy there while getting a ecg yesterday one of the wires slipped of my body and when the result came out part of it was just like a load of boxes line thing. they explained that's because the wire came out so it was a error. they repeadted it and was sent home with the all clear

can the ecg not be complented if a wiere falls out the rest of the result looked ok

The ecg is totally invalid if a wire is not making a connection. Hence why they have to redo it.

Yeah, the ECG leads take measurements at different directions through the heart, so losing a lead means they miss some directions.

The more leads, the more directions it measures, that's why hospital ECGs have all the wires.

thanks for replies. and sorry for the spelling mistakes just had a look at it back there haha..

ermm so how come some of the sheet that printed was normal like heart traces then just that bit was nothing

at the top of sheet it said nothing obv cause it had not worked..

Not sure, I guess it's just what a wire coming loose looks like.
