    Holiday dread

    Hello
It's been many years since I posted here, but here I am struggling with the one element of anxiety I just cannot rid myself of- travel

It's gotten to the point now where I am so uncomfortable even travelling two hours away, public transport over 30 minutes is also completely out now too.

I've cancelled so many holidays over the years because my fear of travelling and being away from a safe space has got me in its grip but I'm determined that this year I will have a real holiday.

My feelings always manifest as feeling trapped- does anyone else have this? Then when/if I do get to my destination I spend the whole time worrying that I will freak out/ have a breakdown and ruin the holiday for everyone else (especially my partner).

My anxiety was once so bad I could barely leave the house and I managed to rid myself of much of that- why can't I get a handle on travelling?

My world is gradually getting smaller because of this

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.

It's because your leaving familiar surroundings, your comfort zone so to speak.
