Thread: Has anyone had blood mixed into stool before?

Has anyone had blood mixed into stool before?

Yesterday I had a loose BM and saw blood mixed in to the stool. It was bright red and definitely blood (not food) I've been having drops of blood on the toilet paper for the past 6 months thinking it was a hemorroid as I had just given birth but it has persisted and now this blood yesterday has really got me scared. I'm always feeling sick and worried I have bowel cancer.

I had a colonoscopy 10 years ago and it was clear - cancer can grow in that time can't it?

    Please help I'm beside myself!

Do a search or just scroll to the bottom of the page. Pages and pages and pages of posts about it. Hemmie or fissure is my opinion.

We literally have hundreds of posts about this.

Red blood = fresh. Fresh blood in stool is generally nothing sinister.

Thanks everyone but this was clearly mixed with the stool so I know what that can mean

If it was loose stool then I imagine the bleeding from piles or a fissure could still be mixed in. Regardless, you should get it checked out.
