    Help blocked toilet

I’ve blocked my toilet again and had to go to work so can’t fix it until later. What can I do? I put my arm right down wasn’t much paper if any so the blockage seems further down.

Should I buy a plunger? Get a plumber? I have ocd so worry about where to put the plunger after it or I fear like one time in the past the water could flood the bathroom floor?

Usually putting down toilet works but not today. When I blocked it the other day it sort of lagged going away after I put my hand down so maybe a few more flushes first? The water seems to rise up when I flush though.

Phil - you can google how to unblock a toilet and there are loads of suggestions.

Try a dishwasher tablet and/or a washing powder tablet. Just leave them to dissolve.

Agree with Nic, but will add you must tell your therapist too about this as it's happening too many times. The reason why it's taking a long time to go down is because it's blocked probably in the U bend, I wouldn't keep flushing though as the water level can quickly rise above the bowl and it could spill on to the floor Less loo roll is the way to go and shower longer after wards that's my advice Phil. Could it be, as you've posted, you go through almost an entire roll of paper each time you go?

I know Phil should be answering this him self but can safely say yes he does use a heck of a lot of loo roll and that's why he blocks his toilet so often he like to be clean but it's getting obsessive it's part of his OCD FMP ATB

    Re: Help blocked toilet

We sometimes get blockages, sometimes more at certain times of the year. We tend to try buckets of water first to try and force it through with more water pressure than the flush allows.

If that doesn't work it's plunger. Then onto using rods. Rods always sort it if nothing else does.

Sometimes we've found it's a blockage in the mains. Our shared mains is on our property so we can get the rods in there but we've only had to do this a couple of times.

Where do I get the rods?

Maybe I will first try dish washer salt then bucket of water then a plunger?

Phil seriously do you want/need the extra hassle involved in unblocking your loo try and cut down on the amount of loo roll you use didn't you manage to cut down on the amount of hand wash you use? Apply the same tools tools for loo rolls it's doable ATB

If you block your loo by using to much paper, why don't you just wipe a few times then flush, wipe a few times then flush?
