    embarrassing lady question

    hi all,
so I just turned 25 and have to go for first smear :( so I haven't made an appointment yet but I thought I'd better 'tidy' that area. So I just used scissors to trim and I managed to cut my lip it doesn't hurt and it bled a bit but stopped with pressure I'm still freaking out a bit though
    Reassurance please ?

Get one of those proper shavers/razors next time that Gilette do.

It will be sore for a few days though

Ow! don't put anything on it, it stings when I've tried.

You heal quite quickly down there - just leave it alone as much as possible, no sex if possible and the most comfortable granny pants you have will help.

Also make sure there's no loose hair - tiny bits of hair not rinsed away properly REALLY itch. Worse than cutting yourself.

If you're going to do it again, get a trimmer

Hope you heal quick, tell me how the smear goes, I've never had to go before (still 22)

aww thanks guys that helps just to know I'm not alone! I had a bath with some tea tree oil in just a few drops so it didn't sting. It's not actually hurting that bad and it's very small, I'm just scared because of where it is! Worried about infection I suppose.
My smear isn't until 10th Oct but I will certainly let you know, it was a lovely birthday present to get that a week before I turned 25! hahaha

You could add some salt too to the bath
If it stings when you pee, fill up a little jug with warm water! I used to do this any time I had a UTI really helped with stinging while going to the bathroom.

I only use electric razors with all the safety attachments as there's very little chance of me cutting my self. Plus they are easy enough to use
