Cravings whilst taking Citalopram

I have been taking 20mg for 12 days now. I have read pretty negative reports from other members, but so far I have been feeling ok, apart from the odd stomach upset and also puffyness around the chin/neck and eyes

But from previously not bothering about chocolate and sweet things, my cravings for them is getting to the point of ridiculous ( 4 dougnuts one after the other) and various amounts of chocolate during the day which seems to unsettle me if i cant get some

Anyone else experienced this , I seem to be reading about supressed appetites not increased ones or cravings ??

Can't really help you on the sweet thing but can say that do try and stick with the meds if possible, i was on this tablet for around 5 years or so and it helped me. First 2 weeks were hell, but after that i started to feel much better.

There have been alot of negatives about citalopram,but I think you will find there are alot of positives here as well.I find being on them I crave alot of sweet food's,but dont know if that's the med's or just me and hormoness.

Citalopram has definately suited me more this time apart from eating and eating and EATING and although I look puffy, I do feel absolutely fine . Previously I have been on seroxat which used to make me feel a bit spaced out at times and unable to look at people in the face etc.

Today Ive developed a rash all over my body, after 13 days of taking citalopram is it unlikely to be the medication or could it be ?? Im itching like mad

Aaah well, at least whilst im itching, im not sticking food in my mouth lol

Hi Nanny, I was on citalopram for 5 months recently didnt have any cravings and no weight gain, but they didnt really help me, now been changed to Mirtazapine which have helped mood but weight gain enormous 9lb in 4 weeks!! which is not helping. Fall asleep v quick after taking them too.
