    Does nytol work?

Ive been feeling really anxious recently and have had trouble sleeping.
It doesnt help matters cus ive got 2 kittens that think nightime is playtime!
My hubby told me the other night to have a cup of coffee with whiskey in. Well I had one then another then another!
No surprise it kept me awake all night and I felt really ill the next day.
Ive bought some nytol to see if that works. Im desperate to get a good nights sleep.
My hubbys suggestion was to tell me to lie on the edge of the bed then il soon drop off!
Have any of you got any better suggestions on how get a good nights sleep. I get up in the morning and im more exhausted than went I went to bed.
And before you start wondering at my age "nights of passion" are a definite no!

    Take care

Aww, sorry to hear you are not sleeping, I can sympathise with you on that score.

I tried Nytol and they personally didn't work for me, but give them a go, they may suit you.

I have got LLoyds own Valerian night time tablets and they have worked for me about 90% of the time. I take 2 about an hour before I want to go to bed. They claim to relax you therefore making sleep come more easily.

We moved house a month ago and I have slept badly ever since. Don't know if it's the new sounds, new environment or whatever but I soooo need a good nights sleep

Anyway, good luck with the Nytol, hope it does the trick for you

Never drink alcohol to help you sleep! And obviously not coffee.

I am very familiar with Nytol.

I have a better suggestion: Sominex

It's stronger but puts you to sleep and keeps you asleep.

But here's the way: you MUST take it as early in the evening as you can. Give yourself enough time for 9 solid hours sleep. That way you won't get the `hangover' effect. Don't ever take it late (unless you can sleep-in the next day).

Also, foam earplugs to block out distracting noise is a must.

    Warmest regards and hugs

I use nytol when needed. Not the herbal one but the antihistamine one. My psych recommended and told me it was as effective if not more than sleeping pills. I take it an hour or so before I go to bed and it's brilliant. Even when things were really bad I took it every night for weeks and had no problems coming off it. Good luck and keep us posted.
