Citalopram and Vitamins

Hi,
Can I take vitamin d and calcium whilst on citalopram. I am currently on day 5 and feel so anxious, jaw ache, stomach churning etc etc. I have been on these tablets before in the past and must of had these side effects then, but can't remember feeling like this. Any reassurance that this feeling goes would be grateful.

I took a multivitamin with my citalopram every day for years.

I imagine the effects you are feeling are the start up side effects of the citalopram and nothing to do with the vitamin/mineral tablets. Some people get no start up side effects on one occasion, and then get them all on another occasion, so I do think its quite normal. Try and stick with it

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply.

I haven't started taking any vitamins, just wanted to check first!! Still feel very jittery and panicky and sick, jaw feels awful, but just have to ride it out and hopefully feel better soon.

Ah sorry, I got the wrong end of the stick. You should be fine to take vits they do sound like standard start up effects, hopefully they will begin to take effect properly soon

Another one here who takes multi-vitamins and I'm on Citalopram too.
