worried about throat cancer :(

i have never been a worrier about cancers before until now.

im 27, female and have 4 children.

as the day progressed last tuesday i noticed my neck was tender and by the wed morning i could hardly move my head. anyway this is still there but is better than it was. also i have not had a sore throat but my voice seems a little husky for no reason and its been like this for i would say the past 10 days.

last night i done a really silly thing and googled throat cancer and stiff neck and changes in the voice are a common symptom and now im very worried.

yesterday i also had 2 very scary dizzy moments and i feel so tired lately.

my gramp died 2 years ago of throat cancer.

just really worried, am i over reacting or do you think there could be something wrong? x

Try not to panic, im sure that dr google has made you feel extremly anxious which in turn has led to the dizzy spells. There are plenty of non life threatning reasons to explain your throat symptoms such as infections, inflamations. Never in my life had i lost my voice before and then this year i lost it twice, i had no other symptoms at all and didnt even feel ill but the dr said it was a laryngitus type thing and would clear up on its own and it did. I worried myself about throat cancer too for a while.

I would suggest vistiting your dr for a check up as you have had the symptoms for 10 days which may mean you need some antibiotics to clear up any problems, it may also reasurre your throat cancer fears. Its very common to worry about illnesses that people in your family have died from and then to have symptoms related to that area just sometimes seems to confirm it in your mind.

I am having a full on HA attack at the moment and really worrying... my symptoms are the same as yours - stiff neck, sore voice. I also have strange feelings in the chest...

Do you still have the symptoms or have you been to a doctor and been given the all clear?

Would love to hear you are ok, it would be very reassuring.

i too was worried about this subject and went to the doctor in 2005 with a cough who said i had to go to the hospital, as a result i felt as though something was stuck in my throat and i was choking and my neck felt as though it was swollen , all comes to all it was panic attacks which came from the doctor frightening me.
