30mg side effects

Have recently been put on 30mg, been on about 5-6 days and feel worse, I feel so tired I cannot get out of bed in the mornings and all I want to do is lay down and close me eyes. I also have no motivation to do anything, Is this normal when first starting a 30mg dose?

Unfortunately, yes, sedation can be a temporary side-effect both when first taking SSRIs and for a while after dose increases. It usually diminishes after a week or two.

If it doesn't you could try switching to the equivalent dose of escitalopram (Lexapro). This is basically the same med sharing the same active drug. The difference is citalopram also contains a mostly inactive form of it which can produce subtle variations in their side-effects.
