Omeprazole..... Anyone been prescribed it??

I have just been diagnosed with Acid Reflux and been givens prescription for omeprazole. Has anyone tried this?? Does it work??

I stupidly looked up side effects (thank you Dr Google!!!) and noticed one was increased ANXIETY!! Seriously the last thing I need is more of that :-(

I also read that it has an interaction with Xanax. A small one, but that scares me too. I want to take it if it will help my swallowing and throat phlem.

Ok you need to talk to doctor about any interactions with other medication really

ive been in omeprazole for a year never had any side effects from them i find the drug fab! It sorts that acid right away! If you read the side effects on any drug you wouldn't take them also if one person suffers a side effect from a drug they have to list it! :-)

Thanks everyone for getting back to me. A went for it last night and took two. I am happy to report that I woke up this morning without a sore stomach, first time in ages.

I know it's early but for the first time in ages I am optimistic about this :-)

Good job helly! Sorry I hijacked your post! I've had my tabs for over a week now and afraid to take them. I did decide to wait until I finished my course of antibiotics since I didn't want to confuse any side effects. What dose are on? You can take it at night?

I am on 40mg for 4 weeks and yeah I take them at night. Like I said it's still early and I've yet to see what happens tonight (when it's at its worst) but today is definitely been a good day in terms of my stomach.

I only worry is my IBS and how this new drug will effect it!!
