Thread: Venlafaxine withdrawal-mega headaches???

    Question Venlafaxine withdrawal-mega headaches???

    Hi Guys,

So Im three and a half weeks into cold turkey withdrawal from venlafaxine (75mg XL). Pretty much recovered from the pneumonia I developed and am back to work. BUT have a vile migraine type headache everyday and feel a bit spaced out (no real auras tho). Ive also stopped taking yasmin contraceptive pill.... so not really sure whats causing the headaches and how long they might last. Any ideas????

    Hi Deedee,

I've been there going cold turkey from venlafaxine (against doc's advice as you're meant to taper). Got a headache, dizzy and nauseous for about a week and then I was fine. It's unusual for the withdrawal symptoms to last as long as yours. Maybe it's something else?

Why did you decide to stop your two medications so suddenly ? That will certainly cause some pretty difficult side-effects.
