There is light at the end of the tunnel! :-)

    Hey guys!
Not been on in about a month or more!
Just wanted to add my story on here for all the newbies to Citalopram!!
Been on it now for 6-7 weeks so would now be described as at my 'therapeutic dose'. (20mg).

The first few weeks were not great....felt really off...anxious feelings and thoughts and sooo many side effects it was unreal! It wasnt infact side effects of Citalopram but overall anxiety effects which I would have had regardless of the Cit.

Well I am now on week 7 and honestly...I feel like my old self. Its been a slow process and the progress has been gradual but I am now back at work and its strange as I feel like a new person (although Im just 'me' again!)

I can socialise, I can be home alone, I am upbeat and positive and am looking forward to things! I can only thank the Cit for this!! Of course I know I will have ups and downs but I feel now like Im ready and prepared to tackle the lows! I start with a counsellor next week also which I feel will only cement my recovery!!

So everyone who is worried about taking these meds....stick with it....trust me all the side effects are worth it!! The only minimal side effect I now get is slight tension headache but I am willing to put up with that lol!!

Hi I've been taking Cit since June and could not have coped without it, I had a few side affects Headaches, upset stomach but nothing that i couldn't really cope with; the only one that has carried on are night time sweats but believe me i'd rather have that then the way I had been feeling.
I would say to anyone give them a go and get the support of your dr and try some counselling as the meds alone aren't the answer.

I had heightened anxiety, fatigue, headaches and nausea. The headaches are still here! Also had palps but put that more down to the fact I was anxious about the meds. They have completely cleared up now. I used to be obsessive about checking my pulse/heart, checking my legs for clots and convinced I had cervical cancer. Now it is very rare for me to worry about health issues! Honestly feel theyve been a godsend, everyone is different but would defo recommend them based on my experience.
