Hi

Quest. Synergistic magnesium with b6, the b6 will help you absorb the magnesium
I get mine from Amazon about tenner for 60 tablets.
Hi Clio can you take them with Prozac? I tried one evening primrose tab and my anxiety went through the roof the next day. It probably wasn't anything to do with tab and I was just having a blip.
I tried magnesium last year and when I looked into it, the general consensus was Magnesium Citrate was better absorbed than Magnesium Oxide, but never any scientific data on by how much. Also not much help in deciding whether a branded Magnesium Citrate supplement at say £8 was eight times better than Sainsbury's own branded Magnesium Oxide tablets at £1 This is always the problem with supplements isn't it?
I take mine with venlafaxine, ring pharmacist and just ask that's what I do if I'm not sure about anything.
I take it because it's supposed to be good for anxiety if you believe you do its up to yourself as is any supplements.
Thanks clio
Thanks!
i take magnesium and evening primrose oil; i get both from Healthspan. I've been taking both for a long time. I do believe they work for me, tho I take them because of bad pmt. At one point I ran out of magnesium & just thought, I'll wait & see how I feel. I'm sure I felt worse without it so have been taking it again ever since. Its always difficult to know if supplements work. The biggest problem always is finding reliable information about whether these things work. My feeling about evening primrose oil working is backed up by medical advice. my partner was advised to take it when suffering from painful lumps in her boobs; these were down to her hormones & high levels of GLA were needed. Initially she could get it on prescription but that changed & these days its not on the list. Hope this helps.
Magnesium Oxide is cheap, but poorly absorbed.
Magnesium Citrate may have some laxative qualities, but is reasonably cheap. It is well absorbed.
Magnesium Glycinate is quite expensive, but well absorbed. Carlson is a good brand(American).
Solgar Magnesium Citrate is a good one.
I'd generally avoid Holland and Barrett.
I take:
Magnesium Glycinate 200mg 2 x day
Taurine 1g
Vitamin C 1g
Multivitamin 1 x day
Omega3 2 x day (achieving 1000mg EPA)
