Been prescribed it today, has anyone had any success with this drug?

This means the doctor has just palmed me off on 2 meds, mirt and fluoxetine. I'm sick of just been told to go away and try some new meds. He always says it takes time for the meds to kick in but how long do i have to wait to feel slightly better???????????????????

There just seems no end to the process.

Hi over the past years Ive been on Efexor,Diazepam,Amatriptalene, stelazine, prozac and now Cipramil and Tamazepam all have had different effects some quiet bad.
Stick with it give it time to make a difference.

But one bit of advice I was given if you dont think your doctor is trying to help tell him.I always came out feeling like my doctor hadn't even heard a word I said and dreaded going.Until I said no I want to be referred for help (I did have my partner by my side;)) and Im now on the list and believe its the right move for me.

Hi,

Is that a generic for paroxatine(sp) we call it paxil in USA? If so, it has helped me loads. It does take a while for them to get in your system but if meds are the route you want to go keep trying, once you find the right one, it so helps. I also went through quite a few until I found the correct one.

I almost went onto this drug as my councillor advised it to be the best, only thing that stopped me was the fact it has a side effect as weight gain, and I had gained almost 3 st.
