Bowel cancer?

Hi,

For the past two months I've had flat ribbon shaped stools, when I have a BM. I've been looking it up the symptom and everything is pointing to bowel cancer (colon cancer, colorectal cancer).

I have all the risk factors except age(I'm 23) and all the symptoms;

Obese
Unhealthy diet
No excersise
No energy
Blood in stool
Abdominal pain
Feeling of not emptying bowels
Ribbon shaped stool


I saw my GP about 6 months ago for blood in my stool and said I had a fissure and just said to use anusol, which helped at the time. But this new symptom is terrifying me.

I plan to go and register at the Dr's tomorrow and get an appointment.

Has anyone had similar symptoms? What was the cause?

It could be something like IBS

Yeah i have had all the symptom's you described plus weight loss and had a colonoscopy and everything was normal and i am 31.

Just waiting for the consultant to say it's IBS, the pain in my stomach has been worse since i had those damn lax's!

Alway's consult your doctor to make sure but at your age would be very unlikley, the doc said to me you have as much chance as winning the lotto.

I know it's hard not to worry but try your best.

you don't have bowl cancer, not at your age. you must have something less sinister wrong, like ibs
