Hello,

I have been almost panic free for months by going on the low gi diet. I noticed though out of the blue here and there I still have some strong anxiety.

I am now wondering since I am hypoglycemic if I might have a MSG sensitivity also.

I have been reading online and it seems that many people are sensitive to MSG and it is in so many foods, it's almost in possible to avoid.

i just wanted some feedback.

Thanks,
Kelly

Hi,

It is a is a flavor enhancer "Monosodium glutamate". It has several names it goes by:

Definite Sources of MSG

autolyzed yeast
calcium caseinate
gelatin
hydrolyzed protein
sodium caseinate
yeast extract

Possible Sources of MSG

textured protein
carrageenan
vegetable gum
seasonings
spices
flavorings
natural flavorings
chicken flavoring
beef flavoring
pork flavoring
smoke flavoring
bouillon
broth
stock
barley malt
malt extract
malt flavoring
whey protein
whey protein isolate
whey protein concentrate
soy protein
soy protein isolate
soy protein concentrate
soy sauce
soy extract

Unfortunately, it is impossible to provide an all-inclusive list because the food industry is always inventing new labeling deceptions to confound consumers.

Alot of people think it is just in chinese food.

Thanks.

Thanks Kelly - I try to eat fresh foods as much as possible. I don't think I'm sensitive to it though.
