Omg....scare do!!!

Hello Friends,

Thought I would post this as a bit of light relief, lol. (or should I say dark in my case, lol)

Well, I've had some big changes lately, one being the end of my relationship. I thought I would continue along this vein with 'a new me'.

I decided to go and get my hair coloured for a complete change, from blonde highlights to the old me - natural dark brown.

Well, it is not so much a 'hair do' as a 'scare do'. It all looked very positive in the salon. Nice brown on the swatch thingy they have....but in reality...

...I look like the lost 'Adaams Family' member!!:scared15:

It is WAAAAY too dark and my light tan has turned into corpse pale!!:blink:

Half of me is wondering what other balls up will befall me, the other is trying to look on the funny side.

I have been washing it within an inch of its' life today to try to speed up the fade process a wee bit, but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions?

I will go back to the hairdresser if I have to, but was hoping that any bright sparks out there may have a canny method!

Ahh Debs what a nightmare..i used to be a hair dresser so have seen some hair disasters in my time.I'm sure your hair doesn't look as bad as you think
Dont go to the chemist and get any of their colour strip treatments as they will not just strip all the colour from your hair but it will go dry and horrid
Mix 10 mls of 20 vol peroxide with shampoo lather up leave a few minutes, repeat shampoo no peroxide this time & treat with a protein treatment like Joico's K-Pac or Redken's Deep Fuel.
As long as you condition well after your hair will keep its good condition.
Anti dandruff shampoo is a good thing to use whilst you are trying to fade your hair

Glad you are feeling a bit better in yourself after reading your other post.I must say you sent a really kind message to me when I was feeling down which helped me,you seem like a lovely person and one day you will find some one who realises and appreciates that.

opps I forgot to say do a strand test first what ever you do!
Also if you have a Sally hair salon suppliers near you they will have something there you can use,i think its called fade out

Thanks so much for your kind message, and thanks for the advice!

I will give the anti dandruff shampoos a go first. I wouldn't trust myself with peroxide measurements, lol!! Knowing me I would end up going in the other direction....white, lol!

I think I am just shocked at the change too maybe.

Thanks for your lovely words of support. I am just getting on with stuff now as what is done is done so forwards is the only way.

I have had some dodgy do's in my time. I remember the first time i went to have my hair dyed at the hairdressers. I was 15 and felt so grown up because i was having a proper bleach job. Anyhoo to cut a long story short..Um the hairdresser made a right pigs ear of it. My routes were the colour of a banana and gradually got lighter until it reached pure white. :roflmao:

Maybe you could have the dye stripped.

Yep, my hair is still very peculiar right now, but thank goodness it has ever so slightly faded with the 'head and shoulders' but if it doesn;t calm down soon I will ask the hairdresser if they can suggest something to sort it. I really don't want to add highlights as the whole reason I had them removed was to save some money right now as I am not working.:weep:

Anyhow, nothing could EVER be as bad as the enormous 'poodle perm' I sported in the 80's....OMG...HORRENDOUS.

Poor you !!! I too have had some hairdressing horrors over the years !!! Don't even talk about my curly perm of the 80s !!!!!

Have you tried lemon juice ? It does help if you have a particularly strong dark colour on your hair that you need to lessen. But not the best thing if your hair is dry.
