I hope my story might help
I was about 17 when I lost my job. I was in no rush to find another one.
I just stayed around the house with my family. then the holidays arrived.
and I got in to the car. With everyone to go on holiday.
I started to feel sick. and the further we got away from home the worse
I felt. we arrived at the place we were staying and I was in a complete
panic. I was so bad my family had to drive me home and they arranged
for my older brother and his wife to look after me. for 2 weeks
from then on I just could not go out of the house. I was Agoraphobic
it was back in the 1960s when if you had problems like that there was no
help. I stayed in the house for 3 years without seeing a doctor or getting any
help. In the end I was so ill and sick of it I phoned the Samaritans just for
someone to talk to after a time they asked me if I would like to go to there
office I said yes and once a week my brother would drive me to the office
and I would talk to a member for 1 hour after a short time they asked me if
I wanted one of them to befriend me again I said yes and meet a man called
Ted once a week he would pick me up in his car and we would drive somewhere
that I felt safe and we would get out of the car an walk together after some time
when I felt I could he would drop me off and I would walk on my own
to a place and meet him with the car it took about a year but in the end
I started doing thing's on my own that was 40 years ago and I have not had any
problems since then so it is possible to get completely over it:yesyes:
