Hi Everyone

Well i finally have my appointment with the oral surgeon for the 1st Nov.

I know I should be relieved but Im so scared they are going to open up a can of worms.

My GP checked what i believed to be two ulcers under my tongue. They had been there two months so you can imagine the fear. Turns out they are cysts.

Im left with the bump on the roof of my mouth. I dont think its any bigger but wont shift and sometimes there is a symmetrical bump on the other side that seems to come up and down.

I thought my anxiety was getting better but today I googled and poked and prodded the bump (seems to have got harder and bigger).

The 1st of Nov seems so far away. I hope its a blocked gland or something silly.

Thanks for letting me rant.

Love Gem x x x

Doesn't it suck when you think you are ok and then freak yourself out again??? At least in November this mess will be over for you. Honestly, something that I have learned is that if you already get cysts, you are more likely to get them elsewhere. That has been the case for me. So if you have cysts on your tongue, I would guess that the bump on the roof of your mouth probably is one as well. It is good you are going to get it checked though so you will not have to keep thinking about it.

Speaking of thinking things are awful and they are silly, I thought I had a tumor on my tongue, freaked out, went to an ENT and was told it was my sublingual tonsil. Boy, did I feel stupid. But also very happy it was nothing out of the ordinary lol

Thanks 4 ur message.

I agree about the cysts thing. I had one on the sinside of my cheek and now I have about 6 here and there. Their even on my ovaries.

I'm glad it will b sorted soon. It gets me down sometimes and when I'm down my lymph node hurts which only feeds my anx about my cancer fear. I think 'oh no, its spread' but I know my gland has been a pain 4 three yrs and the ent ok it.

My sublingual tonsils r massive as well. I like u thought tumour/cancer. There on the sides of my tongue. Look like lumpy things. Really weird. My gp said I would be a medical phenomenum if I had cancer or a tumour on both sides of my tongue lol

Don't u wish u can go bk to the days wen u nvr gave health a thought. All this has led me to give up smoking. Its a gd thing but its another coping mechanism really.

Thanks again x x x

Hi Gemma,

I know how you feel waiting to see a specialist...I've been having shoulder / chest pain for a few months and although the MRI didn't show up anything in particular it did find a small dark area on my vertebre which they are 99% sure is just a small build up of blood in the bone called a heamageoma...which is harmless. However they want to scan me again in December to check it still the same...Panic stations!!! :scared15:

I hate waiting at the best of times!

I'm sure you'll be fine and its all down to harmless cysts. I know from experience the more you poke and prod something the worse it seems...a curse of the HA!

I'm like you, I would love to go back to my care free days were getting i'll never crossed my mind....Ah one day! :)

Hi

Im sure you will be fine. The doctors are just being cautious. They have to cover their backs by keeping an eye on things.

Ill keep everyone updated with what the specialist sqys.

Thankyou
