itchy hands

I don't know whether anyone can enlighten - but i'm getting a mega big problem with itchy hands. Its only in my hands, not anywhere else, and its more like a burning sensation really. When I itch it, sometimes a clear liquid oozes out. The doctor gave me something called "Elocon" a few years ago, and that works when I use it, but I'm trying to avoid it as its a steriod cream and thins the skin. I've had some success with Manuka Honey hand cream; also have been taking an Ayervedic remedy called "Neem & Sarsparilla" which seems to cool down the blood a little.

Does anyone have experience of this?

My husband gets dermatitis on his feet which sounds very similar - it starts with tiny blisters which itch like mad and then ooze clear liquid. His skin also gets dry and cracked. He covers his feet in Johnsons moisturiser. I guess its a bit easier to protect your feet than your hands. I'd go back to the doc or see a chemist and ask if they can recommend anything other than steroid cream.
