How long does it take to work / how long to last

I'm having a panic at my desk at work. I feel frightened to stand up, for fear that will trigger a bigger panic attack.

Sometime ago my doctor gave me some Diazepam 5mg tablets. If I take one now how long does it take before it has an effect? And how long does that effect last?

Also, is 5mg a good dose to take?

It should start coming on a bit after 10 mins or so, and fully at 30 or so.

5mg might space you out quite a bit - try half a tablet and then take more later if you need it (probably you won't).

Anyway, hopefully you're feeling better by now one way or another :)
