Hi,

I just want a feedback to those who have used Effexor XR and Pristiq ( which is the metabolite of Venlafaxine).

Have anyone found Effexor XR more effective than Pristiq?
Or Have anyone found Pristiq more effective?

I currently is on Effexor XR, prescribed by my Neurologist, as a preventative med for chronic headache

Any input is appreciated

Now He changed me to Pristiq.

He explain that, Effexor XR ( Venlafaxine) is metabolised by liver enzyme, to become an active metabolite of Pristiq ( Desmethyl-venlafaxine).

So actually both are the same medication. Except Pristiq, which is designed in such a way, that it is "smoother" to our liver.

Comparing the effects, EfexorXR works stronger than Pristiq to me.

I don't know if anyone has an put about it.
