Well sorry for being graphic but i just passed a stool and it had mucus on it (as normal) but inside the mucus was blood wasn't load's but enoiugh to see with the naked eye.

I had a colonoscopy done about 7 week's ago and got the all clear, should i not worry about it and just write it off? As that was the reason i had the colonoscopy but was never explained why they was blood in my stool on ocasions.

Thank's.

what colour is the blood you pass x

Trevstan

It looked a darkish red but you could tell it was blood... Could it be an internal hem?

If your colonoscopy was clear then you can stop worrying that any blood is from a nasty cause. Most likely explanation is internal pile or fissure that bleeds a little. Also if you have any hard stools which are common in ibs they look like sheep droppings or rabbit droppings then these can irritate the mucus lining of the bowel and scratch it and any irritation can cause mucus with streaks of blood in it.

I remember a Dr saying that after an internal examination of the rectum he always warns his patients that the act of putting his finger inside and feeling around could make the rectum produce slightly bloody mucus for a bit afterwards. the lining of the bowel is very very delicate and bleeds easily.

Thank's makes sense i guess because when i first pass my stool they are like rabbit dropping's then it goes softer.

I have had diarrhea the last few hour's and it's bright red blood on the tissue paper, then after it stop could it possibly be a internal hem?

Freaking out a little bit but then i say to myself i just had a colonoscopy done 7 week's ago nothing can be wrong, but you know how our minds work i just keep thinking what if.

Well, to be fair, even if you had a colonoscopy 7 weeks ago, I think most people would be making an appointment to see their GP on Monday. There's health anxiety and then there's common sense - go and get an opinion, as you say its probably nothing to worry about.

Well my bottom feels really sore today when wiping and it has been the odd spot's of blood on the tissue paper.

I did see my doctor about it the last time it happend (was more blood) and he said that he wasn't worried since i had a colonoscopy and it could be something that i had ate, or a hem/fissure.

I still freak out when i see blood tho.

---------- Post added at 22:39 ---------- Previous post was at 19:14 ----------

Well my bottom is still giving a little blood but i am having really watery/foamy stool but the blood is not passing with the stool only when wiping, and my bottom is really stingy and hurting while passing.

Should i go to the doctor's or write it up from my ibs flaring causing my bottom to bleed?

I did drink some alcohol yesterday which could have caused this.

when i have diarhea ive had red blood on toilet paper and also when constipated but i have also had dark mucusy blood and told it was internal hemmeroids and as i told you my colonoscopy was clear so i dont think you have anything to worry about and i still freak when i see it so my dr told me not to look just do your thing pull the flush and walk away which i try to do now but i was obsessed with checking down the toilet and tissue but it just feeds your anxiety so try not to look because you defo havent got bowel cancer so try not to check just dont look you will find it difficult at first but it will get easier and sometimes you just wont be able to resist but please try

Thank's i did start to flush and walk away but my anxiety got the better of me and checking all the time i think i'll do what you say,the doc's said i am fine i just need to take heed and beleive it.

I think with me having a CT Scan for my Blood in Urine problem it's popped it's head and i am checking everything out all the time.

Blood's stopped for now but my bum feel's like it is on fire must be so irratated down there :weep:

yes it will be irritated did they ever find a cause for the blood in your urine ive had tests for that too i also had a urogram last friday so am waiting for results of that
and about the toilet checking yes my anxiety subsided when i stopped checking so we must keep it up x

I had my Urogram done on the 3rd of October but i don't see the specialist about the result's till 28th feel's so long to wait.

How long do you have to wait? And was your's microscopic?

My doctor said sometime's people have blood in there urine and it's unexplainable (and sometime's the never know it's there till they have a random medical or test), they did find blood in my urine about 5-6 year's ago when i was due a medical but nothing was done at the time.

bronte
11-10-11, 09:08
if they found anything on your urogram that worried them they would have been in touch by now they wouldnt have waited for your next appointment the radiographer who did mine said i would here within 2 weeks because i havent got an appointment with a urologist for my results this was done through my dr my blood showed up on dipstick only it didnt show up at lab my gp also says sometimes they never find a reason for blood in the urine x

Trevstan
11-10-11, 14:31
Yeah the lady that done that scan said the result's would be with the specialist and he will contact me told her i had an appointment on the 28th already sceduled (think that's because he is very busy)...

Same thing they find blood on the dipstick but when sent away to be cultured everything is fine.

So if anything was seriously wrong i would have been contacted straight away? Because it's been 10 day's now.

bronte
11-10-11, 14:36
yes i think they defo would have got in touch with you i tried to hint at them to let me know if they saw anything but they was having none of it which was quite frustrating x

Trevstan
11-10-11, 16:31
Yeah i was the ame i was sat thinking should i ask then i basically got rushed out the door, tbh i knew they wouldn't have told me anything there and then.

I guess comon sense say's if anything was serious they surely would have made it a fast track for my appointment to see him.

i guess my doctor will have the result's also by now i could prob's see him about it but then the uroligist wouldn't be to happy i bet lol

Edit_: Just been the the toilet again and it started bleeding again so got my partner to have a look she said i have a spot on my anus witch look's like it has been scratched which is causing the bleeding any way i can help it along with healing?

The problem being is when i go the toilet it strecthes the skin :/

bronte
11-10-11, 19:22
yes it sounds like you have a anal tear ask your partner to get you some sudocrem its for nappy rash that is what i use on mine when it plays up x

Zee

I agree with Bronte re the sudocrem used externally. It helped me.

Well it wouldn't stop bleeding so went to A+E they told me that a superficial vein had popped under the skin and theskin had popped afterward's which is causing the bleeding (which is still going on now)... She said it's starting to clot now but it will still bleed till it get's the blood out that is needed?

She told me that i need more fibre in my diet and to be carful while passing my motion's.

That sound about right?

6 hour's it took i had to wait for the surgeon to get out of theatre :(... And it's still bleeding it's like a spot that just does not want to give up.

bronte
12-10-11, 10:19
poor you have they give you cream to put on it to shrink the vein back that i would think would help stop it bleeding x

Trevstan

Nope she gave me nothing.

Its still bleeding but not as bad as yesterday, but i have rang my local GP for a call back to see if i can get some cream.

---------- Post added at 17:37 ---------- Previous post was at 14:24 ----------

Well he spoke to me and he said it's a pile (over the phone) so the surgeon must have used a posh name for it.

Gave me some cream to relive the pain and itch.

Is it normal for a pile to bleed for a few day's? It's not heavy like if you pick a spot bleeding like that but not stopping.

bronte
12-10-11, 19:13
yes it is normal for it to bleed for a few days nothing to worry about im sure the cream will sort it out

Trevstan
12-10-11, 19:42
Thank's yeah it's not bleeding heavy enough now to worry about and the surgeon that i spoke to said it would have to drain itself that's the reason it popped because if it hadn't they would have done it.

Just not nice bleeding all the time for a worrier.

bronte
13-10-11, 10:53
no i totally agree it just keeps our worries going hope your feeling better soon and will you let me know what your urologist has to say when you see him but im sure all will be fine x

Trevstan
13-10-11, 20:38
Still worried about the result's like crazy but if it was something really bad/important i am sure i would have been contacted (i think!)

Trevstan
14-10-11, 03:16
Do you think if i actually contacted my doctor that refered me to the uroligist would he has the result's, just would be nice to know everything is ok?

bronte
14-10-11, 09:59
give your dr a ring to see if they have the results back yet or ask them to tell your dr to give you a ring but im sure if you havent heard anything you will be fine im still worrying about mine if i havent heard nothing by next week i may give my dr a call too

Trevstan
14-10-11, 13:44
Just rang the doctor's surgery and she said that nothing was on the screen yet just wondering if the doctor will be able to access the record's since it was the urologist that refered me.... I'll try again on monday i guess.

And i have a damn cold/flu and this dry cough is terrible! :(

Trevstan
14-10-11, 19:58
Well just passed some blood with my stool again it's the most i have ever passed but it was a hard stool trying not to worry to much about it, but my mind feel's like it is going in to overdrive!

I know i shouldn't worry since i had a colonoscopy done but i am thinking what happened if they missed something :S?

Sick tbh...

Edit-: Is it possible that the doctor when she checked inside could have irratated thing's down there? Just that was Tuesday and we are now on Friday.

bronte
15-10-11, 10:24
honestly you are fine and yes if he has been prodding about it could have irritated your piles and no they wont have missed a thing on your colonoscopy have you tried a stool softener like senna because im sure its the hard stool that is irritating things so go and get a mild laxative and give the area time to heal

Trevstan
15-10-11, 16:59
Thank's sometime's i need a firm telling that it's ok to get through to me.

I just passed a stool and everything was ok it's strange because sometime's they is blood and most other tie's they is not.

bronte
16-10-11, 01:08
sorry if i came across firm i didnt mean too because im the same as you with health anxiety i need reassurance all the time but i honestly think your fine x

Trevstan
16-10-11, 03:57
I misread the way you meant it but still thank you for your positivity, i think i just have to have something to fixate on... If it's not this it's something else.

I had to have a colonoscopy done and still it feel's like it's not enough :/.

bronte
16-10-11, 18:03
im exactly like you im a born worrier and have to have something to focus on but we have to try and break this vicious circle or what life are we going to have Honestly the colonoscopy is enough to find anything that shouldnt be there and if they was they defo would have found it so really i would stop worrying about that all together ive also had blood since my colonoscopy but my dr reasured me i have nothing to worry about x

hi
i have all sortof bleeding from the back passage.
ive had the bright red blood ive had the dark blood that look likes a clots in my poo.

the worst thing ive had tho is attacks of diarrhoea with terrible stomach cramps that usaually lasts for about a day with in the end just passing bloody discharge that can sometimes leave me bed ridden.
i went to the docs had all sorts of blood tests and two sigmoidosopy wher they examine the rectom and the colon but they never found anything just said all they could see was a couple of piles.
i still get the attacks occasionally and they are so painful but they just dont know what it is.
it can be really scary but i just have to let it pass they say bright bloods better because it comes fom lower down and dark is further up the colon and black tarry stools are from where your bleeding up high in the stomach the test you had tho would have ruled out anything serious thats what the consultant told me.

i hope you feel better soonxx:hugs:

Thank you for both the kind reply's it does help when other people have been through what i am going through.

I had slght bright red blood (not much) on the start of my stool but it felt like razor blade's i think i need a softener can the Inner Sphincter get pile's or cut's?

Because it feel's a tad sore inside.

bronte
17-10-11, 10:07
yes you can get piles and cuts further inside your sphincter cos thats where it felt like my tear was but couldnt see anything on outside

Hi there I too have worries over my bowels. It seekms like you have been well checked out so i wouldn't worry too much.xxx
My worry at the moment is an orangy yellow mucus i passed along with my bm this morning which has totally freaked me out. I had a couple of days last week where i had difficulty passing my bm,(too much immodium i think, which i take as a preventative a night due to ibsd) the last bits were like rabbit pooh. Have been fine this morning but this mucus has freaked me out, anyone else had this ? xxxxxx

Zee
17-10-11, 11:35
I had a fissure 20 years ago followed by internal and external pile. That was my first experience of cutting pain and some bright blood on tissue. It cleared with cream in about a week..I had it happen twice since and I do understand how it freaks you out seeing blood. I didnt realise how common piles were. I hate it and can get a tissue spot once a week or it can go away for couple months...I read that the skin area can weaken though when you have had one or two episodes of fissure or piles.

bronte
17-10-11, 14:32
yes Littlemisspanicky ive had this orangy yellow mucus too i think its part of ibs because i get it most when i find it hard to go
