dental anxiety

Hi, not sure if there is a separate thread for this somewhere, so I'll look around too after posting. I am going to a new dentist this Friday and am nervous! I haven't been to a dentist in 5 years (I know, I know). My teeth look ok, but I know I have cavities. I just wish they could sedate me for the whole appointment, I hate the lectures, everything. I know it will be good to go and then be done with it. I just am nervous of what they'll find after not going for so long ...........

Hey , if you are worried you can get sedatives from your doctor, I pretty much take a tablet to calm me down because I shake really bad at the dentist.
Because it's your first time, they may do an x-ray, they usually just plan out the work that needs to be done on the first visit.
