propanalol and thyroxine

Im an underactive thyroid sufferer and taking propanalol ,does anybody know how much the propanalol decreases the effect of thyroxine...little medium or greatley

Hi sarah lou,
I suffer with underactive thyroid as well have done for 20 yrs now and taking 150mgs of thyroxine......few yrs back i was on propanalol and i was ok apart from i had low blood pressure which is normal for me so always felt dizzy on them......my gp never said anything to me about there being any problems being on both, but if you worried over weekend you could go into your chemist and ask the pharmacist, they should be able to tell you......since ive started with the panic attacks again since august my gp gave me propanalol and valium but just took low dose valium for 2 weeks, so i have a few propanalol here and i will take them if i get to bad.
