High blood pressure rarely gives any symptoms. An optician can pick up if someone has high blood pressure for a time as it affects the veins at the back of the eye ( this happened to a friend of mine) so regular eye tests are good for all sorts of conditions.

The huge problem with blood pressure readings is that alot of people suffer from white coat syndrome or even blood pressure machine syndrome! I only have to see a machine and my heart races like mad and I always get a borderline reading. I did manage to be calm for 6 weeks of home tests and it was completely normal but for some reason the terror has returned and now even home tests are borderline with heart beat out of this world.

I hate anxiety!
