it seems to me that not a moment goes by without memories or flash backs. my only rest from it is going into a workshop i have and plunging myself into a hobbie or just sitting there listening to PINK FLYOD tapes, i think this works because it takes me back to days before my traumatic experiences, of which are to many to talk about, i just tried to give an example and had to give up, too traumatic.

Patricias, horrific experiences don't always cause PTSD. Usually it is one near death experience that does so. It is a term that has been started to be used very loosely (not that I'm saying you are doing that).

Have you read the section in the forum on PTSD? Have you asked your doctor for help? PTSD requires specialist counseling to help you through.

hi, i have read all that page you mention and i have also read other peoples reasons for what events in there lives that caused it. with me its been a tearing out of my soul and a series of events afterwards that i describe as worse than a near death experience on earth, this death experience is in the zone of my soul. i hope you can understand what i am saying. counsellors only have so long with you before there time is up leaving me in such a state it takes for everever to come down. people in the flesh are best avioded. as they can trigger of all kinds of fears. writing this is making me sweat and have the shakes and symptons of anxiety.

hi patricas
I've had a bad day too, been in severe pain since yesterday morning, not as bad now but still causing problems, I'm trying to get comfortable with a beer...hot water bottle on my back where the damage is... and a beer!...1968 electric ladyland on the PC speakers...it is helping to make me feel a little better so why don't you try something similar that you like.

There is complex PTSD which if you are exposed to similar situations over periods of time you can get PTSD.
Flash backs vary from memories, to feelings to body sensations.

Have you tried therapy which is said to help PTSD, such as NLP etc.. maybe do a google search and try and find some therapists who might be able to help with your problem?
I don't think talk therapy alone will help with all the symptoms of PTSD
