Wisdom tooth removal

Just found out I've got to have a wonky wisdom tooth removed in a few weeks time. I mentioned my panic attacks to the dentist and he is still recommending a local anaethetic.... Does anyone have any experience of this? Would it be a good idea to ask my doctor to prescribe me some valium first?

Hi,

For heaven's sakes tell your dentist, or someone at his or her practice, that you suffer from panics. Most dentists understand this problem (and dental anxiety in general) and the good ones will have a range of measures to help you deal with it. If your dentist isn't understanding, don't be afraid to find a new one. It's your teeth, after all.
