well i think i have multiple sclerosis because over the past few weeks im getting alot of weird sensations and feelings/ loss of balance, im not going to be asking for some questions in this thread like "do u think i have ms?" because most of u wont understand how i feel with these symptoms and youll probobly just say its all anxiety right?
well i dont take anxiety attacks anymore and i still feel like this so how can this be anxiety
(thats my rant over)

so im just making this thread to ask for some advice on how to see a neurologist as soon as possible, what can i say to my doc for her to EVENTUALLY send me to a neurologist because everybody must think this is just a big joke well its really not im suffering day in and day out with these horrible feelings its affecting my day by day activities and its starting to depress me again, so any advice would be appreciated.

emmi, i started getting really bad dizziness like a week and a half ago i still have it, my balance is terrible (it never used to be) im all hot down the left side of my body, i get really bad twitches around my head, i cant concentrate on a moving screen because of my eyes, my eyes are blurry, my memory is poor i feel weak in the limbs and finally my speech is sometimes slurry. overall i do silly weird stuff that i never used to do and i think to myself "why am i doing this or feel like this".

It is very hard when you feel that your doctor is not taking you seriously. Have you told her that you think you have MS? You can ask her to refer you to a Neurologist privately to put your mind at rest. You would have to pay for the consultation and any tests but it may be worth it.

i know that when people tell you its anxiety it is hard to believe that it is due to anxiety but ms does not attack from one day to the other like that and it has a lot of more intense symptoms. i have the same thing dizzy, feel out of balance, i feel like i have electricity in my body, i get vibration in parts of my body its really scary .. your not alone.

You have health anxiety, that is what needs treating, not vcjd, MS, or anything else you are convincing yourself you have. You can have all the tests and scans in the world, but you will still convince yourself they have either missed something, or are wrong.

Go to your doctor and tell them you have HA and they can help.

Kevin you have had a lot of upset going on recently and it is understandable that this has made your Health Anxiety worse.

Mike is correct you need to tell your GP that this is your problem in order to move on.

If you read other posts on the forum you will see that HA can make you believe anything and dizzyness etc is very common.

Get an eye test, about 50% of people with MS have issues with their optic nerves which a doctor or eye doctor will be able to see by using that light in your eyes.
Then find a doctor and get a referral to a neuro, private would be better, then ask the neuro for the relevant tests, such as an MRI etc...

It is your only way to rule out MS , as MS can pretty much cause every symptom, and that's sort of the problem and why it's often peoples go to illness when they are having odd symptoms.
Also vitamin D is said to really help with MS.

Not to encourage anyone but I am pretty sure a lot of people with rare type illness were told it was anxiety for years before they had a diagnoses.
But I do believe if you are actually ill your symptoms get worse over time and they will be present most of the time.

Now we all here have MS symptoms, because both things have a massive list of symptoms. I guess we know we don't have MS because we have "good" days and our symptoms do tend to ease up after a while.

Anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms, and dizziness is one of the most common,

The other thing to consider is if you are using the NHS for these tests, they have limited resources, and while you are using them being tested for something you don't have, someone who may really have a problem is having to wait longer.

Kevin,

Ask yourself this question, what if you were diagnosed with MS? Your initial reaction would be to freak out yes? Then what, you would become low and accept it, yes? You would have to.

You don't Have MS. Doctors are people dealing with a lot of anxious people. They are not gods they cannot tell you everything. You present them with symptoms one day then they send you away you come back and they realise the symptoms have not gone away so they test you.

The problem is that you are seeking reassurance that nothing is wrong. If you keep going to the doctors you will eventually get a test that is a false positive and then what? You will be convinced they have missed something. Been there done that.

I would only want to know if I had cancer if I could be saved. If not then I would rather let it be and not become a medical guinea pig.

You have anxiety which manifests itself in dizziness and unusual symptoms. Your mind wants you to believe you are ill. Your mind is sensitised by the symptoms it creates. You need to break its cycle and take control.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Do you suffer with Migraines ? This causes a number of neurological symptoms (such as you describe ) WITHOUT A HEADACHE I went through weird symptoms for ages and was convinced I had MS. -I didnt. I did see a neurologist and asked my gp to refer me as I was getting intense dizziness. electric sensations in my scalp and my eyes would nt settle on a page. Apparently the nerve messages get confused and send out conflicting signals. If it makes you feel better I know 2 people who have Ms and they DIDNT have the symptoms you describe.
Try and push for a neuro referral and they can give you answers once and for all. Im sure you ll be fine but until a specialist tells you that you re not going to believe me !! xxx
