40mg Propranolol- Can i take half?

Hi,I've been on 40mg propranolol since August.I started taking 20mg citalopram with it last week,could i break my 40mg propranolol tablet in half? And take it so it would be 20mg? Does anybody else cut their tablets? Is it safe?

I have just come off cit and my gp gave me 40mg of propranolol and I dont like taking them so she said when I went this morning to cut in half and take it at night for a week then stop. so you cant cut your propranolol in half.

hahaha sorry you can. I just got back from hair dresses went on here and read what I had put earlier sorry about that yes you can cut them in half. Dont you want to take the full 40 anymore? and why?

no problem,thanks Cathy.I'm taking 20mg citalopram too and what i find with the propranolol is that they make me tired. .they seem to keep me calm but am sick of been tired. So thought i'd half so i'd be taking 20mg instead of 40mg.They will help you with your citalopram withdrawal that's for sure x

Thanks would it be best to take before bed? As I felt tired on the 40 and I took it first think in the morning

I didn't want to start propranolol, so my Doctor said to start off with 1/4 tab and then half etc. So yeah cut it in half
