cotton wool feeling??

hi
does anyone get what i can only discribe as a feeling that your head is stuffed full of cotton wool? everything seems padded out some how and i have a real job concerntrating even when im watching tv or on the computer it feels like im not giving it 100% sorry if thats not much help but its the best way of explaining it.

anyone have any ideas what it could be and how best to cope with it coz its really freaking me out
