Mandy,

Just seconding what Jackie said. I get a lot of muscle spasm and pain. Have had and and off for a few years now, and it really just is the muscles getting tense. Bear in mind that we are very sensitive to pain, and we react much worse compared with a normal person. You are OK, honest!

hi Mandy,

i know how you feel, my shoulders and neck are so tense you could crack walnuts on them and i would'nt feel a thing (should that be my bum!!!) I wish i could tell you how to relax, at the moment my shoulders are up round my ears there're that tense, hope someone posts a reply on how to get rid of this horrible stiffness.

Take care

Hi Mandy - I suffer really tense shoulders and neck too. Try some stretching, I find that helps, link your fingers and push your hands up to the ceiling or out in front of you. I also roll my my head and shrug my shoulders and swing my arms which helps a bit. I tell myself to relax lots of times during the day and make sure I pull my shoulders down, as I'm often tensed up without realising it. Have a soak in a hot bath - do you have anyone who can rub your sore muscles?

Hi Mandy, You are like me I think we worry to much about things that happen to our body, where non anxious people ignore these pains, this reducing the tension and reducing the pains. Everyone gets these different pains, especially as we got older I am 57 now and its unbelievable the amount of aches and pains I get, isn’t it something to look forward to getting older LOL. Sorry you feel so bad its health anxiety you have and it really makes us feel really down. I think I have had about every test possible yet the old health anxiety still returns with new symptoms and pains. Hope you feel better soon. Vernon

Hi Mandy

Some stretches and a massage could help for this. I think neck/shoulder stiffness and aching muscles is one of the most common symptoms of anxiety.
