After the very nerve wracking scan last week which confirmed that the mass in my lower abdomen is a known fibroid which has got very big and is causing symptoms, I did feel relieved. However, I was told its too big to leave alone and needs to be dealt with. I dont need to maintain fertility as I already have 2 children so I I know a hysterectomy will be suggested. I have now researched alternatives of which there is something called embolisation where they inject something into fibroid and it shrinks, or myoectomy which is surgery to remove just the firboid. I think because my fibroid has got big any keyhole stuff is out of the question. So now obsessing about these treatments and worrying about all the risks envolved.
I know its a long shot but anyone out there had any of these treatments? Seeing my GP on friday to discuss next stage.
