throat worries

ok im on my last day of antibiotics, and i feel generally ok, but when i look at my throat it still looks red and gross. how long is normal for this to last?

I'm scared now that antibiotics haven't worked that I have something like throat cancer. Just got to work and my throat hurts again :( anybody have any ideas??? my bf says it's the weather changing, but it is really red and gross looking.

Got a doctor's appointment for tomorrow, but I am freaking! Why would I stay sick this long? I know stress makes your immune system not as affective, but I keep thinking it is something worse. I wish I could get in today!! I also dont want to be on more antibiotics, I have been on them so much this year because of being sick so often.

Sorry to hear your feeling bad. My throat goes red and horrible looking when I'm put on antibiotics, from the 1st tablet or spoonful to a week after I've finished the course. I have convinced myself a number of times in the past that I've obviously got throat cancer but my doctors have assured me all looks normal. I use corsodyl mouthwash when it gets bad as my throat always feels really dry when its red, also tcp helps. I've been on antibiotics loads this year too so I know how you feel. Hope it all goes well at the doctors tomorrow and I hope your throat begins to feel better really soon.

Thanks, me too. I almost feel stupid for going and not just waiting it out, but for my mental health I know I should go and just get it over with. The appointment is never that bad, just the waiting and anxiousness. I know I am making myself more sick worrying :(
