whats meds are u on

ok so i have been diagnosed with GaD and been given lyrica 25mg twice a day and metroprolol 25mg twice a day and also calmax .250mg twice a day , been on these for 2 weeks , and i feel exactly as anxious and having as many panic attacks as i was before i started these , anyone have any idea how long lyrica takes to have an effect ? All i want is for all this to stop and to feel like myself again and have a good Christmas :scared15:

Not heard anything about those drugs, sorry. I was given sertraline and the doc said that they take up to 6 weeks to work so maybe your drugs are the same. Good luck! X

i think your metroprolol is like a beta blocker so probably will be a bit like proprananol. Calmax i think is like Xanax. Not sure what Lyrica is used for.

With any drugs for anxiety, they take a while to get in your system and you may feel a bit worse before you get better, so its all normal (I know thats hard but it will get better). So I'd say it will probably be at least another 2 weeks before they get totally in your system. Keep your chin up x

hi lanah123g, i'm currently taking lyrica (100mg 5x daily), quetiapine (100mg 2x daily) and mirtazapine (45mg daily) - quite a cocktail! anyway, i was led to believe that all such drugs take a good few weeks to properly squirm their way into your system... but i suppose our bodies all respond differently to these things, so you may get lucky and begin to feel the benefit much sooner. i really hope the drug works for you. :)
