sertraline making anxiety worse

i have only taken 2 50mg tablets but my anxiety seems to be worse is this normal on these tablets

Hi unfortuntly this is a common side effect on SSRI's :mad: they can make u feel alot worse at the beginning but this will pass, good luck xx

i dont know if this is an old myth or what but they say an ssri that makes you really anxious at the start of treatment will turn out to be the best one for you ... stick with it, good luck :)

I started on 25mg before going up to 50mg. Maybe you could ask your doctor if you can half them for a week to help minimise the initial side effects. Also, a short course of diazepam should help until the initial increased anxiety wears off.
